For many years, Championship Manager (until the split with EIDOS in 2004) and Football Manager (since 2005) have given football fans up and down the country to live out the fantasy of becoming a football manager. However, since Football Manager 2009, the game has developed problems coinciding with the introduction of 'Steam'. This program has caused Football Manager players no end of trouble - from slow installs to crashing the game. These problems have, understandably, caused upset and heartache for fans who want to play the game but are 'barred' from doing so because of Steam. Indeed, many fans are going back to Football Manager 2008 (which does not have Steam and as such is easier to load and play). SEGA and Sports Interactive need to know that Steam is causing problems for many fans, and that they should drop it from Football Manager 2011. Steam is only creating un-necessary problems for people, and is actually denying them the right to play a game they spent good money on (this is actually ILLEGAL under EU laws!) As such, we the undersigned DEMAND that SEGA and Sports Interactive drop Steam from Football Manager 2011. We also ask the Secretary For Trade and Industry, Ms. Patricia Hewitt, oversee that SEGA and Sports Interactive do this or else refuse a licence for the game to be sold in the UK. The law and statute of Trade Law in the United Kingdom states very clearly that if you buy an item of goods you must actually be able to use them without hindrance. Are SEGA and Sports Interactive complying with this law? I personally think not. The ball (no pun intended) is now in your court, SEGA and Sports Interactive. We urge you to listen to your customers. Thank You.
